Satipo is a small and attractive jungle town about 350 km east of Lima. It is situated on the eastern foothills of the Andes, in the departmentof Junín. It is the centre of a fruit-producing region. When you travel to Satipo from nearby Huancayo, high in the Andes, you will see fantastic sceneries.

Coming from the Andes you will slowly descend to the lush tropical valleys of Satipo. The surrounding area of Satipo has about everything the Peruvian Selva has to offer: tropical jungle, cloudforests, waterfalls, a rich flora and fauna, and even high mountains and plains.

Another beautiful road leads from the nearby Chanchamayo Valley through the jungle to Satipo.
